My name is Hunter Utley and I live in Memphis , TN. I was born and raised in the Memphis area and I am 26 years old. I have a wife of 4 years and i have a daughter, Bella Mae which is 3yrs old. We are all members at Lifetime Church.
I have been fishing for as long as I can remember. My dad introduced me very early and I have loved it ever since. We fished from the bank on small ponds for bass, catfish, and bream and worked our way up to flat bottom boats to bass trackers to the Nitro I have today.
I was never a very competitive person until I started fishing The Henry Reynolds fishing derbies, club tournaments and local events. I believe it is a very healthy competitiveness. I have fished with Rivercity Bassmasters for the last 2 years. I have done well in competition winning championships but mostly I enjoy the above average character and friendliness from this group of guys. I am the 2017 FLW BFL CHAMPION and also currently in the top-5 in AOY the of the FLW bfl Mississippi division.
Fishing is a sport unlike any other. There are no guarantees and the hardest person to beat is yourself. The fish don’t know what color your skin is, how affluent you are, how expensive your boat is. They have years and years of natural instinct you must overcome and how satisfying it is to do so. I enjoy catching fish but more so to figure them out. The only thing that is more satisfying than putting the hammer on some big fish, is helping someone else to do so.
I like learning new techniques and finding new products that help catch fish and passing these on to others. I pride myself on being versatile. I will throw the shakey head and follow it up with a 6.5” swimbait I look for value in everything I purchase. Quality, craftsmanship, reliability, consistency, every chance I get. Success = Opportunity + Preparation.
